Richard A. Van De Velde, O.D.

Dr. Richard Van De Velde is from Michigan, and completed his training at the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. In addition, Dr.Van De Velde participated in internships at the State University of New York and at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. He was an associate in a multi-specialty Ophthalmic practice in Michigan before relocating to Georgia.

Dr. Van De Velde joined Imhoff Eye Center in 2001, and acts as Director of Clinics. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the eye. He is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association, the Michigan Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Van De Velde has lectured throughout the Southeast on the treatment of eye disease. Together with Dr. John Imhoff and Dr. William Dillon, Dr. Van De Velde is able to meet the needs of nearly all the patients of Imhoff Eye Center.

Dr. Van De Velde is married and has two daughters. When not with his patients, he enjoys an occasional round of golf, and is an amateur musician. His favorite past time, however, is enjoying the company of his family.
